Spray cooling for a stage house with wintergarten in Baarschot!

For a floor house with a winter garden in Baarschot, where 39,000 laying hens are kept, Peeters equipped the top floor with a mist cooling system. This floor houses 18,000 hens and heats up faster than the bottom floor. To test the effectiveness of the system, the customer decided to cool the top floor first.

The results are very positive

Thanks to the successful operation of the system on the upper floor, the lower floor and other stables will also begin to be equipped with the cooling system.

In this barn, the nozzles and pipe are mounted above the valves in order to cool the air flow entering through the valves. This results in cooling as much as 130,000 m³ of air per hour. An additional benefit is the reduced amount of dust particles in the air, contributing to a cleaner and healthier living environment for the chickens.

Automation

Immediately after assembly, automation of the system began. The cooling system is linked to the existing barn computer, eliminating the need for manual operation. The system uses existing sensors that automatically determine when to turn the cooling on and off.

Efficient water consumption

The mist cooling system is efficient and consumes only 6 liters of water per minute, while the pump has an output of 1.85 kW. Thanks to this innovation, hens can enjoy a more comfortable climate, contributing to their well-being and productivity.
